The following health inspections are for the period of Nov. 9-29:

• Heidi's Dutch Mill Restaurant, 1020 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. In-use dispensing utensils are not stored properly, knives and spoons. Wooden food contact surface is not maintained in good condition, crack. Slicer not clean. Floors are not properly cleaned. Floors are not clean.

• Red's Old 395 Grill Bar/Lounge, 1055 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces are not clean, do not contain sanitizer residual or are not used properly. Speed guns, 3-compartment sink and hand sink not clean.

• Red's Old 395 Grill Restaurant, 1055 S. Carson St., scored 94 points. Employees do not wash hands thoroughly or as often as necessary to remove contamination. Non-food contact surfaces of equipment, utensils are not clean (cutting boards scored or melted, ice machine broken parts, storage shelf for clean dishes with standing water, shelves in refrigeration dirty, containers of bulk dry items dirty, wood shelf under microwave in food preparation area.)

• The Deli Francesco, 1329 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. The lid on the chest freezer in the back room was found in disrepair. The lid inside panel was separated from the insulation exposing the stored food to the insulation. The floor covering near the ice machine had peeled away causing a debris-catching cavity.

• Playa Azul Restaurant, 415 E. William St., scored 98 points. The hand sinks in the restrooms have spaces between the back of the sinks and the walls which can collect debris. These spaces must be sealed. The broken window in the dining room must be repaired. The lights above the meat-cutting area were not properly shielded.

• Taqueria Fuentes Take Out, 3391 Highway 50 East, scored 99 points. There was no "no smoking" sign posted at the front entrance.

• Edith Fritsch Elementary School Cafeteria, 504 Bath St., scored 100 points.

• National's Cafe Restaurant, 1701 N. Carson St., scored 97 points. There are no paper towels available at the kitchen hand sink or the staff restroom hand sink. The public restrooms have paper towels stored on the back of the toilet.

• Del Taco Restaurant, 822 E. College Parkway, scored 100 points.

• FISH Family Dining, 138 E. Long St., scored 100 points.

• India Feast Restaurant, 316 E. Winnie Lane, scored 94 degrees. During display or service, cold buffet items are not kept at an internal cold holding temperature of 40 F or below. Rice not at an internal hot holding temperature of 140 degrees F or above. In-use dispensing utensils are not stored properly. Using glass as scoop, no handle.

• Arby's Caterer, 1122 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Arby's Restaurant, 1122 S. Carson St., scored 95 points. Sliced tomatoes were piled too high in the prep table refrigerator bin and were greater than 40 F. There was no certified food handler present at the time of this inspection.

• Grandma Hattie's Caterer, 2811 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• John C. Fremont Elementary School Cafeteria, 1511 Firebox Road, scored 96 points. Water for hand washing is not properly tempered or dispensed. Automatic faucet ran for 10 seconds.

• Pioneer High School Cafeteria, 202 E. Corbett St., scored 99 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces are not clean, do not contain sanitizer residual or are not used properly.

• Casino Fandango Main Kitchen, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. There is biofilm build-up around the perimeter of the ice chute inside the main ice machine (hall area between kitchen and Ti Amo). Put this cleaning job on a minimum monthly schedule.

• Casino Fandango Palm Court Grill, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Johnny Rocket's Restaurant, 4600 Snyder Ave., #B, scored 100 points.

• J's Camo Cafe Restaurant, 2460 Fairview Dr., scored 100 points.

• El Charro Avitia Bar/Lounge, 4389 S. Carson St., scored 92 points. Hand sink provided in the area used for service at the time of inspection was filled with ice (bucket of strawberries and other containers.) Hand sink was blocked from proper use. Soap and paper towels available in this area. Hand sink at the other end of the bar was not properly set up for service - no soap or paper towels. Packaged food not in approved containers, wrapped sandwiches are stored in contact with water or undrained ice. Ice that is intended for human consumption is stored in contact with unsanitized areas, ie.: bottles for service and hose for beverage dispensing. Food and non-food contact surfaces of equipment of utensils are not clean.

• El Charro Avitia Restaurant, 4389 S. Carson St., scored 91 points. Cooked or ready-to-eat food is cross contaminated as a result of preparation or holding. 1-Cloth in contact with food product in hot holding area. 2-Chicken being shredded over unapproved container. Chicken is held cold between 41-45 F. Chicken in refrigeration not panned to expedite cooling process. Wooden food contact surfaces are not of approved material or are used where prohibited. Wooden surface that is used to stack wet dishware and as food preparation surface is cracked, cut or chipped. Non-food contact surfaces that are subject to splash or food debris are not readily accessible for cleaning or are otherwise difficult to clean.

• Kernal's Popcorn Restaurant, 4600 Snyder #E, scored 98 points. Found popped corn for sale to customers stored in black trash bags.

• Dream Dinners of Carson City Take Out, 123 Clearview Dr., scored 100 points.

• Little Caesar's Pizza Takeout, 1217 S. Carson St., scored 97 points. There were no sanitary towels available in the employee restroom.

• U.S. Submarine Base Restaurant, 1894 Highway 50 East #10, scored 100 points.

• Carson High School Cafeteria Senator's Cafe, 111 S. Saliman Road, scored 97 points. In-use dispensing utensils are not stored properly, spice containers. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean, slicer.

• Carson High School Cafeteria Central Kitchen, 111 S. Saliman Road, scored 100 points.

• Mark Twain Elementary School Cafeteria, 2111 Carriage Crest Dr., scored 99 points. Nail brush not soaking in sanitizer.

• Domino's Pizza Take Out, 3231 Highway 50 East, scored 99 points. Smoking tobacco prohibited in certain areas, voluntary creation of non-smoking areas, local regulation, posting signs, removal of paraphernalia, enforcement, retaliation prohibited.

• Thai Spice Kitchen Sushi Bar, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 99 points. There is no measurable residual sanitizer in the cloth storage bucket.

• Thai Spice Kitchen Main Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 95 points. Dry food containers are not labeled. There is no measurable residual sanitizer in the cloth storage bucket at the grill/cook station. There is no hand soap at the dishwashing hand sink. The hand towel dispenser is improperly located over foods.

• The Lady Tamales Restaurant, 933 E. Woodside Dr., scored 87 points. Found staff eating and drinking out of uncovered cups in the food prep kitchen. Found a plate of staff food stored on top of bottled customer drinks in the reach-in. Prepared meat mixtures and sauces are not properly labeled in the refrigerators. Multiple containers of food are not covered in the refrigerated units. Raw meats and meat mixtures are stored above other foods. The 3-C sink is not properly set up and dishes are being cleaned improperly. Dirty wiping cloths are lying around kitchen. No sanitizer bucket is set up to store them in. At least one employee of this establishment must be a certified food handler during all hours of operation.

• Carson Middle School Cafeteria, 1140 W. King St., scored 100 points.

• Grace Bordewich Elementary School Cafeteria, 110 S. Thompson St., scored 96 points. Water for hand washing is not properly tempered or dispensed. New unit installed does not stay activated for at least 20 seconds. Temperature is not adequate for handwashing.

• Eagle Valley Middle School Cafeteria, 4151 E. Fifth St., scored 100 points.

• Los Garcia's Mexican Restaurant, 2000 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Hickory Farms Wholesale Distributing, 1443 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Taqueria Uraupan, 4601 Goni road #A, scored 94 points. Found cooked pinto beans, pork, chicken and beef being held in a warming unit at 112 F to 122 F. Containers of prepared foods are not labeled with the current name of the food and the date prepared.

• Golden Dragon Restaurant, 3250 Retail Dr., scored 89 points. Found uncovered staff drinks in the kitchen. Found some prepared foods and vegetables stored in white plastic grocery bags. Found no residual chlorine sanitizer in wet wiping cloths lying on food prep surfaces. The ice machine deflector shield is dirty with calcium carbonate and bio-film buildup. The ice scoop and the lid it is stored on have grease and dust buildup on them. The dishwasher racks are stored on the floor.

• Turning Leaf Holistic Nutrition Retail Grocery, 4825 Convair St. #21, scored 100 points.

• L&L Hawaiian Barbecue Restaurant, 1300 S. Stewart St., scored 97 points. There was no certified food handler present at the time of this inspection.

• Paradise Cove Cafe Restaurant, 1200 S. Carson St., scored 96 points. Prepared and wrapped meats were found stored without a label showing the name and date. Various foods were found in the walk-in cooler stored cold between 43-44 F. This food must be stored at 40 F or less. There was no sign in compliance with NRS 446.842. Food establishments that sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on premises are required to post signs concerning birth defects.

• Al Seeliger Elementary School Cafeteria, 2800 S. Saliman Road, scored 98 points. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. Equipment surface cracked.

• Pizza Factory Restaurant, 135 Clearview Dr., scored 98 points. Raw food product in same bin with cooked food products. Unapproved boxes being used in freezer for storage of food.
