Robert "Bob" Reed was born Oct. 15, 1959, in Ventura, Calif., to Bert and Susan (Clark) Reed. He married Janet Irene Pope on Nov. 17, 1979, in Santa Maria, Calif.
Bob received his education in Ventura, Calif., and spent a short time in the U.S. Navy submarine branch. While living in Ventura he was employed by Taft Electric, City of Ventura and also worked at the Vandenberg Air Base.
Furthering his education, he went to Hancock College in Santa Maria, Calif., and also took classes at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and the University of Nevada, Reno.
He later relocated to Carson City where he began work as a senior public works construction inspector from March 2003 through July 2003.
Bob enjoyed sports, fishing and hunting. He coached basketball, soccer, boys baseball and softball.
He is survived by wife Janet, of Kingston, Nev.; son Robert II of Carson City; daughter Robyn Reed of San Louis Obispo and granddaughter Ava Irene, and daughter Rebecca Reed or Kingston. Bob had two brothers, Richard and wife Diane of Ventura, and Ronald and wife Carol of Dayton.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Capital Baptist Church, 4555 So. Edmonds. All are welcome to attend.
