Landscape design workshop planned

Greenhouse Garden Center, 2450 S. Curry St., will present a two-day, five session design workshop in February.

The classes from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28 will be limited to 16 people to allow classes to be personalized for the participants. An additional session is by appointment and focused on individual needs.

Reservations are required.

Cost of the workshop is $100 and includes lunches. Participants will also receive 20 percent off any plants purchased on one of the workshop dates.

Sessions include discussions on individual styles, developing a site plan, water systems, hardscapes, plant selection and placement, cost analysis.

Greenhouse is also offering other workshops in February.

"Growing Oyster Mushrooms" is 1-2 p.m. Feb. 6 with guest speakers Dan and Rachel McClure, owners of Nevada's Own Perennials. They will discuss growing oyster mushrooms for home use with some great recipes included. Cost is $30 and includes an organic oyster mushroom kit.

"Bonsai - Getting Started" is 11 a.m.-noon Feb. 20 with guest speaker is Travis Unruh, co-owner of Green Lizard Landscape. Class is free. A full range of Bonsai pots, supplies, and plants will be available for purchase.
