100 YEARS AGO

Fire destroyed a cabin in Glenbrook owned by Davey and Maish. The place had numerous camping and fishing items used during the summer fishing season. The fire, presumed caused by Indians who were told to keep away from the place, was estimated at $300.

70 YEARS AGO

Lyla Perondi, Ted Franklin Jr., and Albert Perlanti are members of the Dayton graduating class of 1940. At the same graduating meeting tomorrow night, eighth graders Lido Buonamici, Alice Cadwallader, Eva Jean Brown and Marilyn Marketti will progress to high school. Nevada Attorney General Allan Bible will give the commencement address. William Raggio Jr., will give a piano solo.

50 YEARS AGO

May in Carson was powder dry, recording .01 percent precipitation dropped May 4. The total precipitation since last July of 5.56 inches, nearly half of the normal precipitation.

20 YEARS AGO

Los Angeles would have to get Nevada's approval on sharing water if an aqueduct is built from Washington to Southern California.
