A motorcyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon on North Carson Street after he pulled out in front of a northbound vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, an official said.

Frederick Russo, 56, of Washoe Valley, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the 6 p.m. accident in the 1800 block of North Carson Street, south of Winnie Lane. As a precaution was flown the trauma center in Reno, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Ron Larson.

Larson said Russo apparently pulled out from the Carson City Inn parking lot and into the path of a northbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle attempted to stop, but struck the bike, knocking Russo to the ground.

Larson said a preliminary breath test at the scene allegedly indicated Russo was under the influence of alcohol. His vehicle was impounded.

The driver of the car was not cited.
