Skin cancer is topic of symposium

Board certified dermatologist Dr. Jay Adams will present a free symposium, Cancer 101 - Looking Out for Skin Cancer at 4 p.m. Thursday at Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, 1535 Medical Parkway. For more information, call 775-445-7508.

Raffle to benefit cancer center

The Carson Tahoe Cancer Center will benefit from the sales of raffle tickets for a choice of either a 2010 Toyota Corolla or 2010 Ford Focus.

Tickets are $20 each or six for $100, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the center. The drawing will be June 12 at Glen Eagles. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 775-445-5161.

Breakfast and lunch program to be offered

The Carson City School District is sponsoring a free breakfast and lunch program to the children of Carson City, between the ages of 2 and 18 only. No adults.

The breakfast and lunch program is June 7 through Aug. 13 at the Boys & Girls Clubs, 1870 Russell Way Mondays through Fridays and not on July 5. Breakfast is from 8-9 a.m. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
