Donations needed for Christmas gift bags

The Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club in conjunction with the Douglas County Senior Center with help from the students of Gardnerville Elementary School and Douglas High School are preparing Christmas gift bags for the recipients of Meals-on-Wheels and Douglas County homebound seniors.

Assembling the gift bags is scheduled for Dec. 10 at the Douglas County Senior Center. The gift bags will be delivered between December 14-16.

Young At Heart needs donations of small presents such as sample size shampoo, conditioner and hand lotion, Chapstick, playing cards, games, candy, cans of nuts, washcloths, hand towels, socks, gloves and ornaments. They also need sugar-free candy for diabetic clients. Deliver donations to the senior center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville or call the center at 783-6455, Annette Muller at 265-1948 or Paul Lockwood at 782-6583 for pickup.

Cash or gift card donations also can be made to Young At Heart for purchasing gifts. Donations can be mailed to the Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club, P. O. Box 1042, Gardnerville, NV 89410-1042
