GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) - Scottish authorities say golfer Colin Montgomerie has sustained minor injuries in a car accident near Glasgow.

Authorities said Thursday that Montgomerie did not need hospital treatment after a crash that involved two cars, a van and a truck.

Scottish Ambulance Services said "three ambulances were sent to the scene but no one required hospitalization. There were minor and superficial injuries."

Montgomerie captained Europe to a win over the United States in the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor this month. He recently returned to playing golf and finished tied for 41st at the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
