Tickets on sale now for Dayton Kiwanis spaghetti feed on Nov. 20

Buy your pre-sale tickets for the Dayton Kiwanis 21st annual spaghetti feed on Nov. 20 at Dayton Elementary School. Buy one adult ticket and get one child's ticket free (up to two free child tickets). Adult tickets are $5, and children $3.

Proceeds support the Children's Shopping Spree for local children.

NARFE meeting planned for Tuesday

NARFE Min-Gard Chapter 2167 monthly meeting will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centervillle Lane, Gardnerville.

All interested persons are invited as well as all active and retired federal employees.

High Desert Rockers host ancient rock art expert on Tuesday

Noted traveler and expert on Ancient Rock Art, lecturer Ernie Winters will highlight the Tuesday meeting of the High Desert Rockers, at the Nevada National Guard Center in Carson City.

Winters, famed Nevada Archeological Association location director and site steward of petroglyphs, will hold you spellbound with his special presentation: "Rock Art of the West," club organizers said.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and light refreshments will be served. The public is invited and there is no charge to attend.

High Desert Rockers is a free and open network of people with a passion for exploration, connection and creativity. They share a love of geology, hidden treasures and wide open spaces. There are no dues or fees.

Sign up now for Storey trails hike

Sign ups have started for the Nov. 13, Cemetery Hike and fitness fun with History of the Comstock Cemeteries, which begins at 9:30 a.m. at Minors Park in Virginia City.

Verna Lewis will lead the event which includes a morning historical hike with highlights of the Comstock cemeteries, lunch and talk on vitamins.

Reservations are required and group discounts are available. Cost is $30 a piece or $55 for two people, which includes lunch and a talk on vitamins.
