Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Laurie Hancock, 43, of Carson City, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony embezzlement, obtaining money under false pretenses, using a credit card without owner's permission, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Hancock allegedly embezzled more than $7,500 from her employer, which she spent on alcohol and bills, a police report indicates.

• Amanda Marie Batesel Steepe, 22, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on East Long Street on suspicion of felony sale of a controlled substance, conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, using a minor as a drug agent, misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor and petty larceny. She also had a warrant for felony sale of a controlled substance. Also arrested was Justin Daniel Steepe, 22, a welder from Carson City, on suspicion of felony sales of a controlled substance, conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, using a minor as a drug agent, misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor and petty larceny. The couple allegedly agreed to sell heroin to a confidential police informant, then, fearing they were being set up, sent a 17-year-old to collect the money. The teen was supposed to bring back the dope, but the Steepes took off with the $95, the report states.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Accident at Longridge and Northridge drives at 6:24 a.m.

• A shoplifter was cited at Burlington Coat Factory at 6:44 p.m.

• Residential burglary report in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road at 9:26 p.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Fight between a man and a woman on Mountain Rose Drive in Stagecoach at 8:01 a.m.

• Residential burglary in the 600 block of Jennys Lane in Fernley at 2:48 p.m.
