A man driving a motorcycle was killed late Friday night after an apparent head-on collision.

Responders were called to the area of Clearview Drive and southbound Highway 395 about 10:10 p.m. for an accident involving three vehicles.

A spokesman with the Carson City Sheriff's Office declined to speculate about details of the accident which were unavailable as of press time.

According to scanner traffic and witnesses, three ambulance helicopters were called to the scene, near Taco Bell and Wendy's.

The accident involved a compact car, a minivan and motorcycle. There were two people in the car and three or four in the minivan.

According to witnesses, it appeared one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong direction on 395 causing the accident.

The ambulance helicopters transported at least four people to Reno hospitals. Their conditions were unknown.

Both north and south bound lanes were closed, and units were still on scene as of press time.
