Newman Appraisal Services expands

Joyce Newman ISA CAPP, certified personal property appraiser, International Society of Appraisers instructor and owner of the personal property appraisal firm, Newman Appraisal Services (NAS), announced a major expansion of the firm's services to include appraisal reviews.

Appraisal reviews are governed by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) developed and adopted by the Appraisal Standards Board of the Appraisal Foundation. The foundation is authorized by Congress as the source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications.

Appraisal reviews consist of examining and reporting on the quality of another appraiser's work and are often essential in litigated cases in which appraisals become an important component, such as a divorce or business dissolution. A thorough knowledge of appraisal methodology and the USPAP standards themselves are essential in conducting a credible appraisal review.

As one of only two appraisers nationwide selected by the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) to teach its core course in appraisal methodology, Ms. Newman is especially well qualified to conduct appraisal reviews. In addition, she has been granted the Certified Appraiser of Personal Property or CAPP designation by ISA, the society's highest level of competence.
