Man arrested in U.S. Bank robbery

Thomas Baye, 46, of Carson City was arrested at 6:18 p.m. after FBI Agents and Sheriff's Detectives, items were located that directly associate Baye with the robbery of US Bank on Market Street earlier Monday, according to a press release from Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. Baye was taken to the Carson City Jail.

According to FBI authorities, the suspect will remain in Carson City until Tuesday, when he will be moved to the Washoe County Jail pending federal Bank Robbery charges.

UPDATE:

A man matching the description of a suspected bank robber was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

The man was taken into custody without incident at a residence on Washington Street.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. today, a man about 6 foot tall in his late 40s wearing a black ski mask with a military jacket with a hood walked into the U.S. Bank on Market Street and demanded money.

The man was armed.

Carson City Sheriff's Officers searched the area searching for a beige pickup truck. A beige pickup truck matching the description was later found in a garage on Washington Street.

SWAT has wrapped up its investigation of the Washington Street address. The case is being turned over to the FBI.
