Commissioners meet today at City Hall for second meeting

Churchill County Commissioners are moving to a different venue for their second regularly scheduled meeting today at 1:15 p.m. at the Fallon City Hall City Council Chambers, 55 W. Williams Ave.

The change of location was scheduled due to installation of upgrades being done to the A/V system in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the county administration building.

Commissioners will discuss or take action on the following items:

1:15 p.m. appointment — Recognition of Don Doud, Leonard Bogdanowicz and Jon Haugen for their retirement from the Sheriff’s Office.

1:20 p.m. — Hear an update of current activities, plans or actions related to the Bureau of Land Management’s Carson City District from Terri Knutson, Stillwater Field Office field director.

1:35 p.m. — Hear a presentation by Tom Wilzcek, Defense and Aerospace Industry representative from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development regarding the Nevada Automated Systems Initiative and adoption of Resolution 14-2013 in support of the state’s efforts in this matter.

1:50 p.m. — Consider a motion to accept a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant.

1:55 p.m. — Consider a request for time extension for submittal of a final map for the Sage Springs PUD, pursuant to Bill 2009-F, Ordinance 103.

2 p.m. — Consider Resolution 13-2013 declaring two used Fallon/Churchill Volunteer Fire Department water tenders as surplus and authorizing the donation of those items to the Nevada Division of State Parks.

2:05 p.m. — The purchase of a No Smoke Diesel exhaust removal system will be considered for Fallon/Churchill Volunteer Fire Department vehicles.

2:10 p.m. — Consider Resolution 12-2013, pursuant county code Sections 4.34.010 and 4.34.020 setting the formula by which governmental utility providers make payments in lieu of taxes to Churchill County.

2:15 p.m. — Hear an update on the Bafford Lane Bridge flood mitigation project. In old business:

Appoint a Churchill County representative to the American Lands Council.

In new business:

Consider submitting a letter to the Clerk/Treasurer to request the county’s acquisition of three parcels immediately north of the Churchill County Museum.

Increase of Petty Cash Account at Parks and Recreation to support the department’s operations and events.

Consider Resolution 11-2013 establishing an Enterprise Fund — known as the Golf Course Fund — for the county.
