County commissioners meet Thursday morning

The first County Commission meeting of November will be conducted Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment to Planning Commission.

Consideration and possible action regarding Bill2014-F, Ordinance 32, and ordinance amending Churchill County Code to create an aboveground utility corridor, including preapproval of transmission lines of 200 kilovolts or larger in recognized corridors and other matters related thereto.

Consideration and possible action regarding Resolution 21-2014, presentation, discussion, and adoption of an amendment to Section 9, Public Services and Facilities, of the 2010 Churchill County Master Plan, in accordance with Assembly Bill239 (2013), creating an aboveground utility plan for electrical transmission lines passing through Churchill County in recognized corridors and other items related in the Churchill County Master Plan.

Consideration and possible action regarding the Country Fair and Ranch Hand Rodeo Report.

Consideration and possible action regarding Resolution 23-2014 declaring Armanko and Hasco library shelving as surplus property and granting the same to the Churchill Arts Council, Oasis Academy in Fallon, and Community Chest in Storey County.

Consideration and possible action regarding letter from Assemblyman Ira Hansen related to the Bureau of Land Management’s law enforcement field guide and increase in police powers in Nevada.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentation of the Integrated Source Water Protection Program working with the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection.

Consideration and possible action regarding correction to request by Demar Dahl to exchange one sewer connection provided for pursuant to the purchase of a utility easement by Churchill County for one water connection.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of a memorandum of agreement for the Brownfields Coalition Assessment.

Consideration and possible action regarding proposal from Mark Warren, MAl, to provide professional appraisal services for conservation easements on various properties held by the Frey Ranch, Storm’s Oasis Dairy, and Washburn.

Consideration and possible action regarding proposal from Karen K. Sanders to provide professional appraisal services for conservation easements on various properties held by Flint Lee, Mark and Mary Kolwyck, and Daniel and Diane Prockish.

Consideration and possible action regarding Resolution 22-2014 establishing a special revenue fund known as AB 65 Court Fee Fund for Churchill County.

Consideration and possible action regarding proposed modifications to the Churchill County board nomination policy for advisory boards.
