Smith’s donates $10 million to non-profits Smith’s Food & Drug Stores has donated $10 million worth of cash and products given to more than 2,200 non-profit organizations in seven western states. The total includes $3.2 million contributed to 315 schools and nonprofit charities in Nevada.The company’s program “Neighbor to Neighbor” provided an average donation of nearly $75,000 per store location throughout Smith’s seven western states of operation. The support also includes contributions from the Kroger Foundation, suppliers, associates and customers through in-store fundraising promotions.Smith’s assistance is primarily focused in fighting hunger, supporting education, children’s hospitals, promoting women’s health, the development of minorities and women and support for local grassroots organizations.
