Gloria moved from Detroit, Michigan to southern California when she was a young child and grew up in the Whittier and Montebello areas near Los Angeles, CA. She worked for her Father’s auto dealership as his office assistant/bookkeeper in both California and later during the late 1950s and early 1960s in Carson City where he owned a dealership on the corner of Carson and Long Streets - “Wiest Motors”. She had met and married her husband George while working for her Father’s business in Whittier, CA. They were married in 1955. They and their two daughters moved to Carson City in 1962 and lived in Carson City the remainder of their lives.

Gloria worked as a bank teller at First National Bank which transitioned to First Interstate Bank and eventually Wells Fargo at both the downtown Carson City branch and later the East Highway 50 location. Gloria retired in 1985 and spent her following years with her beloved husband, children and grand-children.

She enjoyed family the most and doted on her grandchildren. She was most happy visiting or surrounded by friends and family members. She was up for anything and loved camping, travelling, outings, dining, shopping etc. with her family members. She was kind to everyone she met and loved unconditionally ñ her kind spirit was a beacon to all her family and she will be greatly missed.
