Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 13th annual Oodles of Noodles festival, which celebrates the area’s Chinese and Italian history, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Old Town Dayton.

Noodle tasting will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A cash prize of $300 will be offered for the best pasta dish. Tasting tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children.

The event offers food and vendors and entertainment by The Boogie Daddies Band; Junction West and Badges, Bandits and Bloomers gunfighters. Children’s activities, including bounce houses and rides on Lori’s Pony Express, will be offered. The Nevada River Wranglers will be featured, and Civil War reenactments will take place throughout the day.

Sunday’s celebration begins with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. A pet parade follows at 10 a.m., as well as a “Whiskerino” contest, which is open to all beards and mustaches, at noon.

Raffle tickets are available for $5 each for the chance to win a flight in a 1942 Boeing-Stearman.

Proceeds from the event will go to Retired Seniors Volunteer Program and other programs for seniors.

The festival is sponsored by the Nevada Appeal, Pioneer Crossing Casino, The Webstaurant Store and Prosperity Graphic Design. For vendor or food booths or to be a pasta contestant, call 775-246-7909, or go to www.daytonnvchamber.org.
