One-day registration fee waived for young cattlemen, women

The Nevada Cattlemen’s Association is offering to waive a one-day registration fee on Nov. 4 for all pre-registered young cattlemen and young cattlewomen ages 18 to 45 who have not attended an annual cattlemen’s meeting before.

The three-day event will take place in Elko at the Convention Center Nov. 3-5. Registration packets are available on the website or from the NCA office at 775-738-9214, or by email at nca@nevadabeef.org.

“NCA wants to provide a ‘Free Pass’ for any young cattlemen and cattlewomen giving them the chance to see the Association in action to see how policies dealing with the many issues facing the livestock industry are set and carried out across our state and nation,” said President Ron Torell. “We have planned that whole day around special young cattlemen’s “college” classes that will include some Beef Advocacy Program materials, some state NCA Committee activities, a Trade Show with products and services they might need and use, and other opportunities highlighting the value and benefits Nevada Cattlemen’s and the National Beef Cattle Associations bring to young people and their family businesses today, tomorrow and into the foreseeable future. Then we have a Young Cattlemen’s and Leadership Reception and Western Fun Night to round out the day.”

“One of the toughest ideas to get across is that belonging to an industry trade association is an Investment in your business and not an unnecessary Cost,” Torell said. “NCA and NCBA take care of watching all the hundreds of challenges we could not possibly confront alone. This is about doing together for a relatively low fee what one person could not possibly do by themselves if they paid one-hundred times those dues.”

“Our mission is to promote a dynamic and profitable Nevada beef industry which represents the interest of its producers and consistently meets the consumer’s needs while increasing Nevada’s market share,” said Torell. “Nevada Cattlemen’s Association feels strongly that the future of rural Nevada depends on healthy viable land, responsible stewardship and a strong membership. NCA works hard to protect private property, vested water and grazing rights. We achieve this through increased public awareness of our industry and agriculture in general.”

The Nevada Cattlemen’s Association is a nonprofit, membership trade association established in 1935 devoted to presenting a united front on issues impacting every beef producer.
