The Carson City Sheriff’s office is looking for a few volunteers.
Volunteer Coordinator Ken Smith said they are expanding the Volunteers In Partnership with the Sheriff program that places volunteers at the front desk and with the Jail visiting Program.
He said preference will be given to retired seniors.
To qualify, individuals must have a valid Nevada driver’s license and no felony arrests.
He said the department is also looking for an ordained minister to join the department’s Chaplain program.
All candidates will be trained by the department.
