Wave falls at South Tahoe

The Fallon swim teams ran up against one of the top programs in the North.

The result was a 133-77 loss for the boys and a 150-114 defeat for the Lady Wave on Friday at South Tahoe.

Katrina Ward, though, anchored the Lady Wave with a pair of wins. She won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:28.97, while Addyson Harmon placed third (2:46.87) and Josey Moore took fifth (3:02.76).

Ward picked up her second win in the 100 butterfly (1:14.84), while Amber Revels took fourth (1:19.94). Revels also nabbed a second-place finish in the 500 free (7:31.72).

Kaehlen Nemeth added another win for the Lady Wave in the 50 free (29.96) followed by teammate Sierra Bivens in second (30.53), while Danielle Brown took fifth (32.25).

Nemeth also won the 100 free (1:07.43), while Bivens came in fourth (1:10.88).

Katalina Martinez took second in the 200 individual medley (2:43.6).

Harmon (1:30.83) and Moore (1:31.3) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 100 backstroke.

Martinez added another second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:28.27) followed by Brown in third (1:30.57).

The boys, meanwhile, swept the 50 free led by Kyle Grimes (24.7) in first and followed by Nathan Narag (28.14) and Isaac Kelsey (28.72). Grimes added another win in the 100 free (55.55), while Ryan Ware took fourth (1:10.14) and Kobe Abe placed fifth (1:11).

Isaac Kelsey was fourth in 200 free (2:43.72) and Narag was third in the 500 free (7:09.02).

Christian Nemeth took second in the 200 IM (2:38.37) and 100 breast (1:19.05), while Kendall Rogers was second in the 100 back (1:32.55). Ware placed fifth in the 100 breast (1:34.44).

The the relays, Moore, Ward, Revels and Bivens led the Lady Wave to a win in the 400 free relay (4:56.37), while Moore, Danielle Brown, Ward and Kaelehn Nemeth were second in 200 medley (2:29.13).

Bivens, Revels, Brown and Nemeth led the 200 free relay team to a second-place finish in 2:06.7.

Grimes, Narag, Christian Nemeth and Kelsey were second in 200 medley (2:08.97) for the boys, while Nemeth, Narag, Kelsey and Grimes finished second in the 200 free relay in 1:49.41.

Fallon is on hiatus for various spring breaks and returns to the pool April 17 at Truckee. The Greenwave ends the regular season against Lowry at the Truckee pool on April 24 and against Sage Ridge at the Fernley pool on May 1.
