Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

At 3:59 a.m., a 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer, driving on a suspended license and fictitious registration and a 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the Highway 50 AM/PM. Bail for the 22-year-old was set at $850 and bail for the 19-year-old was set at $300.

At 3:04 p.m., an 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny and criminal contempt alternative sentencing after deputies responded to reports of a woman taking items from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $750.

At 3:20 p.m., Johnny Redding, 26, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $50,000.

At 4:39 p.m., Gregory Rand, of Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony fugitive from justice. No bail was set.

WEDNESDAY

At 1:51 a.m., Derek Collis, 37, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony trafficking level three and felony possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $22,500.

At 2:45 a.m., a 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-first offense. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 9:15 a.m., Joseph Joyner, 71, of San Diego, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of felony non-sufficient funds, no proof of insurance and no registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Russell Way and East Williams Street. Bail was set at $4,825.

At 7:44 p.m., a 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of domestic battery-first offense. Bail was set at $6,000.

At 7:45 p.m., David Torres, 27, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, child neglect/endangerment, resisting a peace officer, obstructing and two counts of violating bail after responding to reports of a child custody dispute near the 400 block of Saliman Road. Torres led officers on a chase down Saliman Road where he jumped the fence into the Juvenile Detention Center. Bail was set at $29,800.

At 3:15 p.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-first offense. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 3:49 p.m., Diane Springfield, 55, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery and assault with a deadly weapon after deputies responded to reports of a woman in the Carson Street Dollar Tree threatening the store clerk with scissors, demanding money. Bail was set at $60,000.

At 9:05 p.m., a 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-first offense after deputies responded to reports of a man and woman yelling. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 9:16 p.m., a 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man taking items from the Highway 50 Dollar Tree. Bail was set at $250.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
