Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of battery by a prisoner

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 1:23 p.m., Joshua Floyd, 24, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of battery by a prisoner after deputies observed him and another inmate fighting in the Carson City jail. Bail was set at $20,000.

At 4:20 p.m., a 21-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a theft at the Highway 50 Savemart. Bail was set at $250.

At 6:16 p.m., Matthew Dobbs. 38, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear-traffic and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Highway 50 and Centennial Park Drive. Bail was set at $4,715.

At 8:05 p.m., a 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of eluding, reckless driving, speeds too fast for condition, registration suspended/expired, no valid driver’s license, and no insurance. A 24-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana less and one ounce and a failure to appear. Bail for the woman was set at $1,800, bail for the man was set at $1,450.

At 6:40 p.m., a 70-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of defrauding a taxi after deputies responded to a call of a woman not paying for her cab ride. Bail was set at $200.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
