Daniel (Dan) M. McGrew

May 19, 1947- Jan. 24, 2016

On January 24th 2016 the world lost a loving husband, father and friend.Dan was born May 19, 1947 to Marvin and Bernadine McGrew of Denver, Colorado. At a young age Dan’s family moved to Southern California. Dan graduated from Norwalk High School. He worked with his father in a family business learning the machinist trade, later working as supervisor in numerous manufacturing/aerospace companies. He moved to Carson City in 1985, where he met his wife, Christy. They married in 1991 merging his two daughters and one son with Christy’s two sons. It was a hectic time, but Dan held us all together. Dan was a kind and generous man who always loved and looked out for his family. He had a sense of humor that was unmatched. We all tried to get one up on him, but it was near impossible. Dan’s interests included spending time with family and friends and road trips with his wife and the 2 miniature poodles he loved. Once or twice a month he got up early (3 a.m.) to head to the Nugget to play his favorite poker machine. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Christy, his children Cheri McGrew, Dee Dee McGrew, Will McGrew (Brooke), Jack Sosebee (Michelle) and John Sosebee (Bette), his grandchildren Halen, Victoria, Molly, Kiley, Quincey, Trinity, Nicole and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
