Nevada Humane Society is waiving adoption fees on all adult cats through July 17.

Humane Society staff said more than 500 cats have arrived in the last few weeks, so it is hoping to free up some kennel space through this weekend’s adoption event.

Although fees are waived at both the Carson City and Reno shelter, standard adoption policies apply. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens are $60 and adult dogs are $50.

The shelter, at 3770 Butti Way in Carson City and 2825 Longley Lane in Reno, is open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
