Carmen Sexton, 82, passed away on 6/23/2016 at Banner Hospital in Fallon, Nevada. She was born in Wells, Nevada, 8/21/1933. She moved to Fallon a few years later with her parents. She was a graduate of Churchill County High School, class of 1950. She fell in love with Fred Sexton who was stationed at Fallon Naval Air Station. They married two years later and had three children. Carmen worked as a legal secretary in Reno for nearly 40 years for the law firm

Bradley and Drendel. She was an avid reader and had an incredibly dry sense of humor. She enjoyed gourmet cooking for family and friends. Yet, more than anything, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Fred Sexton; father, William Vicks Jr.; mother, Lenora Wilson; step-father, Vern Wilson; sister, Lois J. Vicks; brother, Robert Vicks; sister-in-law, Lois E. Vicks; and step-sister, Beverly Bollman. Carmen is survived by son Bruce (Christine) Sexton of Reno; Lisa Sexton Flansaas(Al Roper) of Reno; son Mitch Sexton of Fallon; brother, Dick Wilson; step-sister, Rosie Diehl; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;

three nephew and two nieces.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista, Fallon, Nevada 89406. Carmen will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Fallon Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the Churchill County Museum, 1050 S. Maine St., Fallon, Nevada 89406.
