Nancy Evans Lane

Nancy went to be with the Lord suddenly of cardiac arrest on April 18, 2016. She was born on July 7, 1937 in Ventura, CA to Ruth and Elmer Evans. After a move to Fallon, Nevada, young Nancy attended schools in Churchill County.

In 1970 she and her husband, Jim Hoard opened Fallon Appliance Repair and Fallon Hobbies on Center St. and served the community until Jim’s death in 1976. Afterward, Nancy worked for the Social Security Administration and ultimately retired from the United States Postal Service in 1997. Nancy was a pilot, square dancer, golfer, expert crafter, and a 15-time horseshoe pitching champion. Nancy loved the little things in life and made the most of every day.

Nancy and her husband, Richard Lane, loved to travel and experienced many adventures by themselves and as members of the Good Sam’s Club and Oasis Desert Trail Riders ATV Club. Nancy was always upbeat and tried to brighten the day of those around her. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Evans and Ruth Wightman, her stepfather Lisle Wightman, brother Wesley Evans, sister Snoda Miller, and son Michael Hoard. Nancy is survived by her husband Richard Lane, son Jeff Hoard and wife Karen, daughter-in-law Lori Hoard and grandchildren, Ryan, Hailey, Whitney, Brandon, and Christin Hoard, and niece Terrie Johnson.
