Ruth C. Doege of Fallon NV, passed away on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 4th, after a long battle with health issues. Ruth was born and raised in Hobart IN and moved to Fallon in 1964 with her husband and son.


She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League from the time she arrived in Fallon.


She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping and was always ready to go when anyone suggested a “road trip”.


She was preceded in death by both parents, her brothers and sister as well as brother and sisters in law. Also preceded in death by Mike and Carol Lazaro of Indiana, Chad Doege of Gillette, WY and Trevor Thomsen of Round Mountain, NV.


She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Elmer Doege, one son Earl (Karen) Doege and a sister Shirley Buchfuehrer of Indiana. Eight grandchildren Mike Lazaro, Mark Lazaro, Chris Lazaro, and Dennis Lazaro all of Indiana, Elbie (Missy) of California, Sonja Bressmann of Reno, Tony (Jamie) Thomsen and Kasandra (Arthur) Nichols of Spring Creek as well as numerous nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at St John’s Lutheran Church, 1170 So. Taylor Street in Fallon NV, on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 11:00 am. Pastor Alan Hilton will be officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a luncheon reception held by the St. John’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League in memory of Ruth C. Doege.


The Gardens Funeral Home in Fallon will be in charge of arrangements.
