Carson City committees, commissions seek members

Ten positions are open on various Carson City committees and commissions.

The 911 Surcharge Advisory Committee works to enhance or improve the telephone system for reporting an emergency in Carson City and oversees the budget for it. The committee needs three, general public members.

The Audit Committee, which oversees both internal and external auditing of the city, is seeking two, citizen-at-large members.

The Regional Transportation Commission is looking for one citizen-at-large member.

The RTC establishes priorities and recommends appropriate funding for transportation improvement projects within Carson City.

The application deadline for all those positions is Dec. 2.

The Cultural Commission has a citizen-at-large position open. The commission advises the Board of Supervisors on arts and cultural matters.

The Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee makes recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority on redevelopment area plans, incentive programs, special event funding, and other matters.

RACC has three spots open: citizen-at-large, business or property owner in Redevelopment Area 1 and business or property owner in Redevelopment Area 2.

Deadline for application for those two boards is Dec. 23.
