The application deadlines for volunteers interested in the Carson City Redevelopment Citizens Committee and the Audit Committee have been extended to Jan. 19.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee. There are four open positions including a business operator or property owner in Redevelopment Area 1 and the same for Redevelopment Area 2. There are also two citizen-at-large positions.

The terms for the business or property owners expire in 2026, and the terms for the citizens at large expire in 2025.

The committee’s purpose is to make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority on Redevelopment Area Plans, incentive programs, special event funding, and other matters pertaining to the Redevelopment District. A minimum commitment of up to 10 hours a month is expected, and there is no compensation. Applicants must be Carson City registered voters.
