November has been named National Caregivers Month to honor the millions of unpaid caregivers who support spouses, children, friends and neighbors who are chronically ill or disabled.

For the last seven years, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Carson City has provided a safe and supportive place for caregivers to meet every first and third Thursday of the month. All caregivers are invited to attend any of these meetings, the next of which will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. The meetings offer a chance for caregivers to meet with others who understand the unique experience of caregiving, and learn coping methods to manage stress.

The church is at 314 N. Division St., at the corner of Telegraph and Minnesota streets. For more information, call Deb Cash at 775-882-1534.
