Honor Flight Nevada, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Nevada, Reno and other organizations are planing an evening to honor those whose lives were forever altered by the Holocaust and World War II.

The event offers the rare opportunity to hear stories firsthand from several Holocaust survivors and World War II veterans who were involved in liberation missions.

Holocaust Remembrance: Survivors & Liberators will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 25 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., Reno.

The event will include remarks from Gov. Brian Sandoval and Jon Yuspa, founder and CEO of Honor Flight Nevada. There will be a question-and-answer session facilitated by Brent Boynton, host of KNPB Channel 5’s “A Conversation.”

The Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Israel has provided the “Anguish of Liberation” exhibit of 13 panels. Artwork was created by survivors about liberation with description about each panel. The panels will be on display during a reception at 6:30 with the program following at 7 p.m.
