YERINGTON — A woman died in a vehicle crash on Thursday on Six Mile Canyon Road. Nancy Vandenput, 57, of Fernley, died as a result of the crash. Lyon and Storey County deputies responded to a report of a crash on Six Mile Canyon Road in Storey County near the border of Lyon County at about 2 p.m. Upon arrival deputies found a single vehicle located in a ravine off the north side of Six Mile Canyon Road. Inside the pickup they found Vandenput, who was deceased. Vandenput was reported missing to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office on Nov. 22 and was last seen in the Jason Court area of Fernley are 8:30 p.m. The Storey County Sheriff's Office is conducting the investigation into the cause of the crash.
