The Douglas County Public Library is hosting two mug cake baking events as part of its adult summer reading program.

The Minden branch’s baking event will be at 5:30 p.m. July 20; the Zephyr Cove location will be set to bake at 4 p.m. July 21.

All mugs and ingredients will be provided. Several mug recipes will be featured offering sweet and savory options. Participants of all ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Also as part of the program, the library will host two “bad art” events for adults. The Zephyr Cove branch will have a Bad Art Night at 5 p.m. July 26. The Minden location’s Bad Art program will be at 10 a.m. July 29.

Each participant will create a work of bad art, and all participants will vote on the “best” bad art piece. The artist with the best of the worst will receive a Bad Art trophy and a prize. All supplies will be provided.

The Minden branch is at 1625 Library Lane. Find the Zephyr Cove site at 233 Warrior Way.
