This isn’t an ordinary obituary, but Robert Marine was no ordinary man. He stayed between the lines, but lived by his own rules. Not to be deprived of his passion, he crafted pieces of art in his shop, Marine’s Woodworking, until the day his heart gave out. He didn’t want it any other way.

Bob was born June 19th, 1938 in Colton, WA to Orris Everett (O.E.) and Jeanne Marine. He joined the Air Force out of high school and was discharged as a staff sergeant in 1964. After serving his country, he attended college at Washington State and moved his family to San Jose, CA in 1967.

He became a computer technician for IBM, where he was required to have short hair, stay clean-shaven, and be dust free when entering the “clean room.” A stark contrast to the sawdust covered, bearded Bob we all knew and loved in Fallon.

In 1979, he sold everything and moved to Fallon to open his woodworking shop.

After divorcing his first wife, he met Jill Fischetti and they were married September 21, 1985.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, O.E. and Jeanne Marine, and sisters Jeanne and Patricia.

Bob is survived by his wife Jill, son Larry (Paulette) of Colorado, daughters Roberta and Mary Jeanne of Washington, son Tony Marine of Arizona, daughter Cori Souza (Trampton) of Fallon and step daughters Tracy Angle (Mark Williams), and Kelly Johnson (Mark Ross). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Bob Marine was a truly authentic man who did things his way. He will be missed, especially every March 8th, his last day on this earth.

Join us in celebrating Bob’s life Saturday, March 18th, 11:00am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1170 Taylor St., Fallon NV 89406.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home 2949 Austin Highway Fallon, NV. 89406 775-423-8928
