“The Odd Couple” performed by the Proscenium Players Inc. is a new twist on an old play.

The staging at the Brewery Arts Center this weekend is the female version of the Neil Simon comedy, featuring Florence Unger, compulsively neat and neurotic, and Olive Madison, a free-spirited slob. The roommates host friends and play Trivial Pursuit and go on a double date with brothers who barely speak English.

“I think Neil Simon would approve of our telling of his remarkable play,” said Res Martin, who plays Mickey, a police officer.

Performances are Friday (today) and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets, which range from $16 to $20, can be purchased online at breweryarts.org or at the BAC’s office, 449 W. King St.

For information call the BAC at (775) 883-1976.
