Good work by firefighters
It was impressive to see the quick response by Carson City Fire Department to the lightning strikes causing the Prison Hill fire. The coordination with the BLM helicopter quashed the spreading fire with impressive speed. Within about 10 minutes of the strike, the fire crews were there, saving an east Carson neighborhood from impending threat.

Guy Farmer and Critical Race Theory
Does Guy Farmer and other knee-jerk critics of Critical Race Theory (CRT) actually know what CRT teaches? Or do they just blindly accept the propaganda of the ultra-right white supremacists that CRT is another “evil tool of the left to destroy America?” What evidence does Mr. Farmer have to support that CRT is taught to “convince our kids and grandkids that the United States is an evil country that exploits people of color.” What are Mr. Farmer and other uninformed CRT critics actually afraid of? That an open discussion of the true history of slavery and its consequences in the U.S. will result in students thinking the U.S. is fundamentally evil? Hence uncomfortable aspects of our actual history should be suppressed? Should not students be exposed to all aspects of our history, both the good and the bad, to be able to lead us into the future? Yes, in the U.S. there have been, and in too many instances still are, oppressors and oppressed. It’s time to recognize that to be able to move on and effectively promote civil rights and racial equality.
Should anyone care about facts, a neutral definition and discussion of CRT can be found at: https://www.britannica.com/topic/critical-race-theory. Within an objective definition of CRT there is plenty of room to civilly debate our actual history.
