Pando is a recipient of the Mac Wilson Scholarship, Frank Memorial Scholarship, CHS Bing Blood Wrestling Scholarship and the NIAAA Student Athlete Scholarship. The NIAAA Scholarship is awarded to one young man and one young woman in the state of Nevada by the Nevada Athletic Directors Association. Pando is the first CHS athlete to win the award.
He earned a varsity letter in wrestling his sophomore year and a varsity letter in football his junior year. He was a football team captain his senior year and was named honorable mention All-Sierra League as a linebacker. He also maintained an overall GPA of 4.04.
“I have attended CHS for all four years of my high school career, and my experience has been phenomenal,” he said. “Wrestling and football has taught me discipline and hard work, while having fun at the same time. I am proud to be a former CHS athlete.”
