The Carson City School District Orchestras Spring Concert takes place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Carson High School’s Senator Square.
Due to inclement weather, the event has been moved indoors. Food and drink are permitted, and masks will be mandatory.
Student groups taking part in the concert include the CCSD Honor Orchestra, the Carson Middle School Advanced and Beginning Orchestras, the Bita, Spenser, Lola and Mira Quartet, the Eagle Valley Middle School Orchestra and the CHS Concert and Chamber Orchestras. The event also will feature acknowledgements and awards. The event will be led by CHS music and orchestra teacher Dr. Brian Fox.
Wednesday, Carson High’s Band Spring Celebration Concert takes place at 5:30 p.m. in the stadium with gates opening at 5 p.m. This will be the school’s only live in-person performance of the year featuring students from CHS’ Jazz Band, Cadet Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. Awards will be presented.
“It will be an all-out celebration of our amazingly hardworking and dedicated students,” Nicolas Jacques, CHS High School band director, said.
