Work began early in 2022 on the Andersen Ranch Estates project.
The Andersen Ranch Estates project between Ormsby Boulevard and Mountain Street has begun grubbing.
The developer, Christy Corp., is preparing 48 acres to accommodate 203 homes.
The controversial project was approved by the Carson City Planning Commission in December 2019.
Residents were concerned about density, privacy, traffic, school crowding, and street maintenance.
At the meeting, the developer volunteered to build only two-story houses along any portion of the lot adjacent to existing two-story homes and to only use farmhouse or Craftsman-style architecture.
Christy Corp. will also make improvements to the Mountain Street trailhead as part of the project.
