Qualcan Natural Quality Cannabis is hoping to bring a marijuana dispensary to Carson City. But first, it needs approval to increase the number of marijuana establishments allowed in the city.
The Planning Commission will review Qualcan’s request at its meeting on Wednesday.
The commissioners will discuss whether to increase Carson City’s marijuana establishment cap from two to three dispensaries, and whether to allow drive-through and/or curbside pickup of marijuana products.

If they vote to enact any changes to the municipal code, the Board of Supervisors must also approve the changes.
Other items on the commission’s agenda include:
• The Growth Management Commission’s annual recommendation on the maximum number of residential building permits that the city may issue for 2023 and 2024.
• A special use permit for Dark Willow Emporium, a waste free and vegan new age store, to offer spiritual tattoo services in their retail store.
The commissioners will meet in the Robert “Bob” Crowell Board Room of the Community Center on 851 E. William St.
The Growth Management meeting will begin at 4 p.m., and the Planning Commission meeting will be at 5 p.m.
Residents may provide public comment in-person or email publiccoment@carson.org. The meeting will stream live on cable channel 191 and via www.carson.org/granicus.
