Fernley man dies in Sparks motorcycle crash

Jonathan Christensen, 31, of Fernley died on Thursday, May 5 as a result of a motorcycle crash on I-80.
At 6:32 p.m., troopers with the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division, responded to reports of a motorcycle crash near I-80 mile marker 35 in Sparks, according to a press release.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a black 2009 Honda CBR600 motorcycle was traveling west. The driver steered the motorcycle right to avoid tire debris in the No. 1 travel lane. The motorcycle continued across the No. 2 travel lane, striking the guardrail.
The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and died.
This crash is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division’s Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - Case #220500035. Anyone with information is asked to email ncwmirt@dps.state.nv.us and reference the case number.
