Blue Thunder finishes first at Damonte Marching Invitational

The Carson High School Blue Thunder Marching Band competed at the Damonte Marching Invitational Saturday and took home first place in the AA band division and won for outstanding music and general effect.

The Carson High School Blue Thunder Marching Band performed at the Damonte Marching Invitational, finishing again in first place in the AA band division. The band also earned additional awards for outstanding music and outstanding general effect.

In addition, the band earned the third-place Sweepstakes award, which means it was the third-best performing band in the entire competition.

The Blue Thunder’s next competition will be Nov. 5 at the Sierra Band Crusade at the University of Nevada, Reno; the students will perform at 1:30 p.m.

The Blue Thunder Marching Band also will march at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Nevada Day Parade.
