Although the newest Port of Subs opened Friday in Fallon, a grand opening and formal ribbon cutting conducted by the Fallon Chamber of Commerce will take place at 4 p.m. Sept. 23.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, the field marketing consultant for Sierra Nevada and Idaho, said Port of Subs will feature a car show from 4-7 p.m., that includes a disc jockey, prizes and awards.

“Like the other stores previously operated in Fallon, this will be a franchise location owned by independent operators,” Rich Crombie said. “In fact, the new owners, Lisa and Jason Massey, also own the store in Dayton, which is one of our best operating stores. These owners are very hands-on and committed to community service in addition to operating a prosperous business for the long term.”

Crombie said the Masseys are excited to be opening a franchise in Fallon at 1175 W. Williams Ave., next to the Golden Gate. Crombie said a goal of there is to become part of the Fallon community and to offer opportunities to local charitable organizations for their fundraisers and support, similar to what they do at their Dayton store.

This marks a return of a Port of Subs franchise to Fallon. A franchise operated in the Stillwater Plaza until the owners changed their brand.

“Fallon has always been a market that we as a corporation have wanted to be involved with,” Crombie said. “With 130 stores in seven western states, and locations in virtually every community in Northern Nevada (including Reno, Sparks, Verdi, Dayton, Carson City, Gardnerville, Fernley, Lovelock, Winnemucca, Yerington, Silver Springs, Hawthorne, Battle Mountain, and Elko), the only missing piece is Fallon.”

Crombie said Port of Subs knows the area has a desire for their product.

“It is our hope to have continued success in that community and become a solvent partner within it to provide a great product, top-notch customer service, and long-lasting relationships with its residents,” he added.
