The I.D.E.A. Committee of Sierra Nevada Realtors is hosting a bilingual homebuyers seminar called “New Year, New Home” on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will take place at 300 S. Curry St., in Carson City. It is free and open to the public with an RSVP.

“We are excited to offer another homebuyers seminar for those in the Carson City area as we would like to help buyers and sellers in navigating the current housing market,” said Jorge Montoya, chair of the I.D.E.A. Committee. “The (committee) will give expert advice considering that interest rates are rising, and our local market is going through a correction phase. This seminar aims to help address these challenges.”

Speakers will include Montoya, of Guild Mortgage, Mary Avalos of Keller Williams, and Christopher Mora and Kevin Hickey of the Nevada Rural Housing Authority. Topics will include loan programs, credit repair, contracts and insurance, among other topics.

For those who speak English, the seminar will be from 10 to 11 a.m. For those who speak Spanish, the seminar will be from noon to 1 p.m. There will be a catered lunch from 11 a.m. to noon for those who attend.

To RSVP, email Cristal Cruz at cristal@snr.realtor or call 775-823-6233.

Representing more than 3,700 members, Sierra Nevada Realtors is a realtor association serving Washoe, Lyon, Storey, Churchill, Carson and Douglas counties.
