In response to changing community needs, later this month Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) will begin the process of merging services to maximize limited resources and maintain needed services for our community.

Locations to close and transition are:

• The clinics at Walmart, in north Carson City and south Gardnerville.

• Outpatient lab services at the Specialty Medical Center, 775 Fleischmann Way

• The Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital, 775 Fleischmann Way.

The CTH Clinics at Walmart will close by May 31, with some providers serving those locations re-locating to the Carson Tahoe Medical Group (CTMG) Primary Care offices in Minden and Carson City for same-day appointments and others to open provider positions within CTMG.

Beginning June 9, outpatient lab services will be available at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, Carson Tahoe Sierra Surgery, Minden Medical Center, and Dayton Medical Center.

For addresses and hours, visit https://www.carsontahoe.com/lab-services. As Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital (CTCCH) volumes have decreased due to fewer patients qualifying for that level of inpatient care, all services at CTCCH will end by July 14.

“Our ‘new normal’ requires that we continuously watch, listen, and respond to the changing needs of the people we serve,” said Michelle Joy, president and CEO of Carson Tahoe Health.

“Over the last several years, we’ve seen the utilization of these locations and services decrease significantly, while other focus areas have grown. We are committed to being where our community needs us most, in the way that best supports their health and well-being. Wherever possible, staff directly affected by these changes will be offered compatible roles within the organization.”
