The 85th annual Churchill County Junior Livestock Show and Sale begins April 25 for a three-day run at the Rafter 3C Arena on Sheckler Road.

Students from the FFA teams at Oasis Academy and Churchill County High School as well as students from 4-H will their livestock market animals including swine, sheep, beef, goal, poultry and rabbit and all the breeding stock classes for those same animals.

The annual show allows Churchill County youth to exhibit skills they have learned in raising their animals such as project management, decision-making, fiscal responsibility, time management, record keeping and project evaluation. The show and sale give the community the opportunity to encourage and reward the youth who are engaged in these positive self-development and education endeavors.

After viewing the animals on the first two days the public is invited to attend the livestock sale April 27. Buyers have the opportunity to purchase or partner with someone to purchase a locally-fed and -raised animal for your freezer.

Unable to attend the sale? Designate someone as your agent to make a purchase on your behalf. Show officials are happy to help would-be buyers with the process.
