The holiday season is a time for togetherness and joy, but the Churchill County School District also understands it can sometimes bring unwelcome guests such as stress and grief.

“Some of us may be experiencing the holidays without a loved one,” said district spokesperson Kaitlin Ritchie. “Some of us may be balancing endless to-do lists from shopping to entertaining. While we each celebrate this season’s joys, it’s important to stay mindful, acknowledge our feelings, and reach out for help.”

Ritchie said CCSD has partnered with Care Solace to support the well-being of our community. The Care Solace service is available at no cost to CCSD students, staff, and their families.

"We are proud to support Churchill County School District in prioritizing the well-being of its school community by providing timely access to mental health care and substance use treatment services,” said Chad Castruita, founder and CEO of Care Solace.

If our students, staff, or any of their family members are looking for help with mental health or substance use, Care Solace can help them quickly find treatment options matched to their needs, regardless of the circumstance. This is a complimentary and confidential care coordination service provided by CCSD.

“Our students, families, and staff are experiencing significant levels of need for mental health support and assistance that we have not seen before,” Superintendent Derild Parsons said. “Partnering with Care Solace to help individuals navigate insurance needs and provider schedules is a win for our entire community. This work with Care Solace ensures that we meet our second strategic theme of developing the whole person and what that requires to bring that to fruition.”

According to Ritchie, those interested in using Care Solace to help find a mental health care provider can call or visit the following:

• Call 888-515-0595. Support is available 24/7/365 in over 200 languages

• Visit www.caresolace.com/churchillcsd and either search on your own or click

• “Book Appointment” for assistance by video chat, email, or phone.

Care Solace is on a mission to calm the chaos of mental health care. The organization provides mental health care coordination services for school systems to ensure that students, staff, and their families quickly connect to verified community providers. Care Solace offers proprietary software to aggregate mental health care providers and substance use treatment options. Care Solace proudly serves three million students and twelve million staff and family members in over 300 school systems.

The school district encourages parents to check out https://ParentGuidance.org for on-demand virtual courses, professional support and a safe community to learn how to support their children and get answers to mental health questions. There are courses on anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, and other mental health concerns.

All courses are created by therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other certified mental health practitioners. There is even a portal where parents can "Ask a Therapist" their tough questions and see questions and answers from other parents.
