Carson High School’s Senior in the Spotlight this week is Malia (Mia) Alvarado. Alvarado is an amazing student and has attended CHS all four years, earning an academic letter. She has taken Honors level classes and is actively involved in the Early Childhood Education Program. Many of her community service hours have been spent at local elementary schools and working events serving kids ages pre-kindergarten to fourth grade.

Most days, Alvarado works as a receptionist at a small family business after school. She credits her mom on being her biggest influence. Alvarado says, “My mom has always pushed me to be my best self.” Additionally, her mom made sure she understood that getting a good education was a major priority. That advice has paid off as she has been accepted to the University of Nevada, Reno where she plans on a career in education.

Carson High School is very proud to recognize Alvarado as its Senior in the Spotlight and we know that she will continue to make CHS proud.
