Carson City Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen said Tuesday sample ballots were sent the prior week –along with explanation letters — to all active registered voters for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary on Feb. 6.

Mail-in ballots were sent Monday, Hoen said, noting snowy weather delayed some deliveries. He said nonpartisans will receive the sample ballots but not mail-in ballots unless they change their registration.

The deadline for registration by paper form was Tuesday, but voters can update their registration online for the primary until Jan. 23 at https://registertovote.nv.gov/.

“Yes, changing before Jan. 23 will result in us sending them a mail ballot,” said Hoen.
Not to be confused with the Nevada Republican Presidential Caucus Feb. 8, the Presidential Preference Primary is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street. Early voting runs Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. Saturday early voting will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weekday early voting will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
